Two Distinct Coastlines
Orient Bay on St. Marteen has two distinct coastlines. At one end and around the point is a coral shore that easily traps boats caught in the surf. On the other end is flat glorious sand without a rock in sight. The rocks are trapped in the reef that is offshore. One end of Orient Bay epitomizes doom, gloom and treachery. The other end, the beach, represents relaxation, happiness and a little bit of heaven.
All beautiful in different ways!

Truly a stark contrast, Liz.
It reminds me very much of Aruba. One side is very desert-like, and the sea is very, very rough, and the other side is like a tropical paradise.
Beautiful photographs!

The 2 sides of paradise. Both beautiful in their own way. No doubt your villa was close to the more serene beach.
