92/365 A Busy and Relaxed Week

It has been a busy and relaxing week all wrapped into one. It started last Sunday, Easter when we had dinner with family. Our nephew Ed and his fiancé Leanne hosted their first big holiday meal in their new home. I have to say the amount of food was amazing. What a great way to start a beautiful life together! Thanks to Ed and Leanne!   Next in the middle of the night Hubby and I got up at 1 am to ready ourselves and head to Logan Airport. We were headed to our favorite destination, Orient Beach in St Martin.  After numerous times vacationing down here we have fine tuned our holiday to the spot we love best and the perfect place to stay. We have rented a one bedroom apartment right by the beach. One wall of our apartment retracts and is open to the outside. Perfect indoor, outdoor living. The Caribbean breeze is so constant that we don’t even have to worry about the bugs at night.

Beyond our door is a covered terrace with table and chairs, including loungers and beyond that is another deck with two more chairs, some grass, a pool and then the beach.

Where we stay is perfect. You don’t even need a car. There are multitudes of beach bars to choose from up and down the beach. Each morning we get up around 7:30 am, have some coffee and then walk the beach. The entire loop is three miles. Afterwards we walk over to the French Cafe/Bakery for coffee, pastries or a fresh baguette.  The village has everything you could possibly need. A grocery store, hair salon, multiple restaurants of every type with the most outstanding cuisine. Even lunches are amazing. All in all an outstanding 10 days. Next year it will be two full weeks! And of course this couldn’t be possible without the help of my sisters Barb and Mary who are taking care of the dogs and house sitting! A big thank you to both!
