79/365 When Puggy Howls
Our pug Virgil is almost completely blind and deaf. However his sense of smell is amazing. He can tell if anyone is near him if he sniffs the air. And in that manner he can tell if everyone has left the room. He has major separation anxiety and can’t be left alone. As soon as he realizes he is alone he starts howling. Even if you happen to be in the room next door after a short period of time he thinks he’s been abandoned and starts howling. It can be a problem for example when you’re taking a shower. If our yellow lab Brady is left with Virgil within minutes of the pug starting to howl Brady will join in. Brady really does not like Virgil’s howling and responds with his own as if to say “Please make it stop!”
Awww poor baby.
I am sure that at times, it’s inconvenient, but there is something very wonderful about how attached he is to his family, and how important you are to him.
