There is a beautiful and magical place on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. It is called Heritage Museums and Gardens in Sandwich. It is acres of magnificent nature trails just waiting to be explored by all. There are trees of every imaginable kind. Placed throughout are dedicated gardens such as the Lily garden, Hydrangea garden, and many more. The entire place is teaming with so many Rhododendrons and Azaleas of every type and size imaginable. Read on to learn and see more…
My hubby and I took two of our grandchildren Emma and Bryce there a couple of weekends ago for something to do. Emma thoroughly enjoyed herself while Bryce sat in his stroller and observed. The fresh air put him soundly to sleep after a while.
There are special dedicated areas too. A maze, windmill, merry-go-round and a new “Hidden Hollow” built especially to entertain children. In this special place children are encouraged to use their imagination. There are all kinds of things for them to occupy their time. A magical tree house large enough for adults is built up on the edge of the hollow. Puppet shows are held there for kid’s entertainment.
One building holds the merry-go-round, which is stunning and has other rooms in which they hold exhibits. There are many other buildings on the property that hold special exhibits: a round barn, which houses an incredible antique automobile collection, a military museum that accommodates other exhibits such as the Wyeth, exhibit this summer.
A new outdoor adventure park is slated to open this summer with zip lines and elevated walkways through the trees. At Christmas time they illuminate the trees and grounds with all kinds of lights and decorations. It is absolutely beautiful!
If you visit Cape Cod be sure to take the time to visit Heritage Museum and Gardens. It is a wonderful spot for children to run around, burn off some energy and learn all about nature at the same time. It has so much more to offer that I haven’t even touched upon.

It looks like a wonderful place, away from the crowds. Glad to see grandpa enjoying it as much as the grandchildren. 🙂
