Blueberry Picking in Maine
My daughter, granddaughter and I went blueberry picking while in Maine. This is something I have never done before. I think after two hours I was lucky if I had a pint of small wild blueberries in my bucket. But I must admit for every one I picked I ate one. It was the perfect day for it. A little cloudy, not too warm and thank goodness no humidity!

That sounds like great fun, and I would guess they tasted heavenly.

The large ones were actually very sour. The tiny ones were very sweet.

Sounds like a great time. Blue tongues all round. 🙂

By the time we were done for sure. You had to test the berries on whatever bush you were picking from!

The Maine bears probably ate them all 🙂

There were quite a few left actually!

I’m jealous Elizabeth. We planted six blueberry bushes this year and the birds said the berries were delicious! Then my friend in Michigan kept sending pictures of the gallons of blueberries he was picking. I guess I will have to live vicariously through your post and go to the grocery store for another little box of $5 berries. 😦

You will have to buy 4 one foot high plastic owls and put them on top of poles at each corner of your garden like they do to keep the pests away!

Those would be bigger than my bushes!

The very tall bushes had large but sour berries. The low bushes had tiny blueberries that were very sweet. Those are the ones we used in baking!
