Our Word View – Word of the Week = ZANY
SUNDAY POSTING ~ A COLLABORATIVE BLOG BETWEEN TWO FRIENDS (ME AND MY FRIEND BARB) WHO’S PATHS WERE SEPARATED FOR 20+ YEARS AND HAVE FOUND ONE ANOTHER ONCE AGAIN ONLINE. BOTH SHARE A LOVE OF THE OCEAN, NATURE, FAMILY, PETS AND OF COURSE PHOTOGRAPHY! A FONDNESS FOR INSPIRATIONAL SAYINGS HAS SPARKED THIS PROJECT. EACH SUNDAY WE WILL POST THE “WORD OF THE WEEK” AND OUR INDIVIDUAL INTERPRETATION OF THE WORD VIA TWO SEPARATE PHOTOS ON OUR BLOG “OUR WORD VIEW”!
When we first rescued Virgil the Pug, our lab Brady was a little over two years old and Virgil was six. Brady had been the main focus of our household since he entered it. He was none to pleased to suddenly have to share it with a little runt of a dog. Virgil is very small for a pug. For the first six months no matter what Virgil did to try and make friends, Brady would totally ignore him. He wouldn’t make eye contact with Virgil or even look in his general direction. If Virgil went near him to lay down Brady would immediately get up and move away. He was not going to let Virgil into his heart. Here we are 2 and ½ years later and they are now the best of friends. What a ZANY pair they make! One big, one tiny. Virgil is now like a tumor on Brady’s side. Wherever Brady is, Virgil is. Virgil has become Brady’s protector. How ZANY is that? If anyone tries to get too roughhouse with Brady, Virgil barges right in to protect him. It doesn’t matter the size of the other dog. If Virgil goes out to the bathroom, Brady begrudgingly gets up and goes with him. If Brady wants to come in he will turn and look for Virgil. They are now almost inseparable. The only time Brady ignores Virgil is when he is chasing a ball my hubby has thrown. Other than that they are so close. Whenever I see them together it reminds me of that movie “Twins” with Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger. ZANY isn’t it?
