We Headed North to the Snow!
While most people I know are trying to get away from the snow at this time of year, Hubby and I have deliberately gone to it. We have been vacationing for the past 10 days in Maine. While some of the snow has melted there is still between 1-2 feet if not more on the ground in most places. It has been in the 40s and 50s for the past several days with loads of bright sunshine. We have thoroughly enjoyed sitting outside surrounded by the snow on a side deck where the temps have easily hit 70. We have napped, read, ate, drank, gone snowshoeing, hiking etc… It has been such a relaxing time. For five days my brother Tom and Sister-In-Law Jody were with us. It has been a perfect opportunity to decompress and rejuvenate ourselves before spring finally arrives on Cape Cod and the next month or so are spent working in the yard on our days off! Not that I don’t welcome the warmer temps but a little R&R before hand is most welcome!
Snow shoes
Brady and Harry have been having a grand old time running free!
Our trek through the woods on snow shoes.
Only dog I know that can find a mud puddle in amongst all this snow!
It sounds like you have been having a lovely and relaxing time. There is still too much snow on the ground at our cottage in Maine to get down our steep road. I’m hoping it melts soon so we can get the cottage opened.

I believe it. Although some areas had no snow (under the trees) other areas still had two feet of snow on the ground!

Great! 40s-50s, a little snow, log cabin, good company – what could be better?

Life’s beautiful! I almost hated snow this winter, but when I look at your pictures and the weather and the experience you’re going through, I may want to start loving snow again. Your last pic was funny – Harry finding the mud puddle 🙂

I know how you feel. That is how I felt about the snow at home. But when you travel somewhere knowing you are going to be buried in it it takes on a whole new meaning!

I am one of those wanting to escape the snow being from Minnesota, but it does have its beauty. Great to see you enjoying it!
