Every time we drive up to Maine or New Hampshire we pass this serene view. What you can’t see is the house is sitting on an island in the middle of the Merrimack River which surrounds it on all sides. The small suspension bridge connects it to land. Except for its close proximity to the expressway it is an ideal setting.

I’ve always thought that was a great spot but I don’t think I could live the the noise from the traffic on the bridge.

  I understand but having lived at one time in a big old house near the expressway you become totally immune to the noise after a while!
