The Advantages of Snowshoeing
There are advantages to snowshoeing. Not only is it an incredible work out it takes you to places you would otherwise not likely see in the midst of winter. There is such beauty in a fresh fallen snow. The undisturbed quiet of an otherwise isolated forest. Sheer perfection.
That is of course until we heard the jaw popping and teeth chattering of a black bear that was feeling threatened by our near presence. What was he doing awake? Didn’t he know it was time for him to be in a deep, long sleep? It certainly added pep to our step as we quickly backed away and headed back from whence we came.

A final look back!

Wow, you have a lot of snow, Liz, and everything is so pretty.
I remember the very first time I went snowshoeing. Thought it would be a snap, and it really was…until the next morning. I had muscles hurting that I never knew I had!

Same here but what a work out! They say it’s better than cross-country skiing.
