First Blizzard of 2014 hits Cape Cod

Well we got our first blizzard of the season here on Cape Cod. Overnight over a foot of snow fell and the winds were sustained over 35 mph for a number of hours. There were periodic gusts of 60 mph. Hubby and I were hunkered down, toasty warm in front of the wood stove. Fortunately we did not lose power with this storm. That is unusual. Two high tides, the highest at noontime today did some flooding to our shoreline. Everyone seems to be pretty much plowed out by now and we can all snuggle down and just enjoy being buried in the snow from our first Nor’easter.

Last year at this time we had a storm that dropped over two feet of snow on us. It was very damaging!
