Taking a Rest from Flight!

Sometimes I come upon scenes I just feel are out of a painting. This was one of them. A flock of Canada Geese was resting in a salt marsh during low tide. Some were floating in the little bit of water that was still in the marsh. Others were busy cleaning themselves. A couple even appeared to be sleeping. I’m sure they were resting up before the long flight south. After all winter is coming and they all have a long trip to take. This photo was taken at Ellisville Harbor in Plymouth Massachusetts.
