Manomet Beaches, Plymouth, Massachusetts
While at my sister’s house on Sunday my son and I took a walk up and down the beach. The beach and seawalls have suffered much damage from the hurricane and two subsequent and very strong storms that have hit since last fall. We witnessed many seawalls washed away and earth eroded from the bottom of cliffs. Houses sit precariously close to the edge of bluffs soon to tumble into the ocean. The relentless battering of the ocean and wind have taken a toll on the earth and washed away in some spots close to 100 feet of shoreline. A combination of rising ocean levels and stronger storms have shown that man is no match for Mother Nature!
Indeed, the coast has been hit so hard over the past year or so. It is sad to see, and yet Mother Nature surely has not completely taken away its beauty.
