Straight Out of Currier and Ives
While in Maine this past weekend we popped over to another Town nearby called Bridgton. What a phenomenal little Town. It had virtually everything you could need but was exceedingly picturesque. Off the Main drag and in the woods was a wooden covered bridge over a stream. As is typical in most towns there was a movie theatre but this was a combination movie theatre and pub. On the Main Street there were all kinds of galleries and quirky little stores. At the base of the mountains there was a big, beautiful lake and this could be seen at the end of the beginning of the main drag of Town. There was a little stream running from the lake forming scenic waterfalls and ponds. And the architecture of the houses is something straight out of Currier and Ives painting. It was like taking a step back in time! I can’t tell you how pretty everything was covered in snow. I can imagine that each season is just as beautiful. I hope to go back soon for another visit!
Bridgton is a great place to visit…you will enjoy it in the summer. There is a farmers market every Saturday in the lot by the movie theater. On the 4th of July, there is a yellow rubber ducky race in the stream that flows through town.

Such an absolutely gorgeous Town. I’m sure it won’t be the last time we’re up there! You are very fortunate to live in that area!

We have a summer cottage on the water in Naples at the other end of the lake from Bridgton. We do enjoy our months spent there.

I know in New England we sometimes take all the beautiful architecture for granted. Then you have to stop and remember that it really is unique to this area!
