Gay Head, Aquinnah, Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts
The town of Aquinnah on Martha’s Vineyard is better known for the Gay Head Cliffs and Lightouse. The colors of the cliffs are spectacular because of the clay in the earth. At the bottom of the cliffs is a beach known as Lucy Vincent Beach (formerly Jungle Beach) named for the lack of clothing worn. It’s one of the few nude beaches left in the US. Aquinnah is also celebrated as a center for the “Wampanoag Indian” culture. Approximately one third of the Town’s voters are Wampanoag. If you ever take a trip to the Island you must take a drive out to this end. It is absolutely spectacular!
Spent many summers there when I was young, back before it became a prime vacation spot. It’s my favorite place on earth! You’ve captured it nicely here.

These absolutely wonderful Elizabeth and I have to say the first image has grabbed my attention because of the lighthouse, the tones and the use of a close up foreground. Off to check out Etsy. By the way like the header on your blog. Have a great day! regards, James
