SUNDAY POSTING ~ A COLLABORATIVE BLOG BETWEEN TWO FRIENDS (ME AND MY FRIEND BARB) WHO’S PATHS WERE SEPARATED FOR 20+ YEARS AND HAVE FOUND ONE ANOTHER ONCE AGAIN ONLINE. BOTH SHARE A LOVE OF THE OCEAN, NATURE, FAMILY, PETS AND OF COURSE PHOTOGRAPHY! A FONDNESS FOR INSPIRATIONAL SAYINGS HAS SPARKED THIS PROJECT. EACH SUNDAY WE WILL POST THE “WORD OF THE WEEK” AND OUR INDIVIDUAL INTERPRETATION OF THE WORD VIA TWO SEPARATE PHOTOS ON OUR BLOG “OUR WORD VIEW”!
I hate to admit this but I had to look up the definition of this word in the dictionary. I’m glad I did because what I thought it meant is entirely different from the definition. The definition is: “(adjective) 1. of a liquid giving off bubbles; fizzy 2. vivacious and enthusiastic.
So I decided I would use the second interpretation “vivacious and enthusiastic”. Nothing could have been closer to that definition that “July 3rd” in Boston along the Esplanade watching the Boston Pops practice for their big 4th of July concert. Hubby and I have never been to this before so we were not expecting the crowds we came across. There were thousands, upon thousands, upon thousands of people lining the Banks of the Charles River for a mile or so. People strewn about on blankets and towels. Riding in boats, paddling in kayaks, standing on the side of the road. They were virtually everywhere. The excitement was amazing! When Keith Lockhart / Boston Pops, Jennifer Hudson and the other acts came onto the stage to rehearse the crowd went crazy! The practice concert started after dark and lasted until about 10 pm. We were fortunate as it was an unbelievably warm night. We were really lucky because as it turned out on the 4th it poured rain and the concert was cancelled. They actually broadcast on TV the practice from the night before which we attended. How lucky was that?
