Our Word View – Word of the Week = CRISP
SUNDAY POSTING ~ A COLLABORATIVE BLOG BETWEEN TWO FRIENDS (ME AND MY FRIEND BARB) WHO’S PATHS WERE SEPARATED FOR 20+ YEARS AND HAVE FOUND ONE ANOTHER ONCE AGAIN ONLINE. BOTH SHARE A LOVE OF THE OCEAN, NATURE, FAMILY, PETS AND OF COURSE PHOTOGRAPHY! A FONDNESS FOR INSPIRATIONAL SAYINGS HAS SPARKED THIS PROJECT. EACH SUNDAY WE WILL POST THE “WORD OF THE WEEK” AND OUR INDIVIDUAL INTERPRETATION OF THE WORD VIA TWO SEPARATE PHOTOS ON OUR BLOG “OUR WORD VIEW”!
There is a reason I picked the above picture for the word “Crisp”. And it is not simply because the rose hips are a “Crisp” red color. All of these pictures were taken in the same location.
I remember that spot and time, as it will be forever etched in my mind. It was several years ago in York Maine on Thanksgiving weekend. My extended family and I went away for the holiday to the “York Harbor Inn”. My sister Mary and I had decided not to cook at home that year, as we are generally the two who alternate cooking. She had lost her longtime love Bob in late September during a drowning accident while fishing in our Town. None of us wanted to remain around town that year to celebrate. So we all went away and stayed at the B&B, our big extended family. It was a long weekend, a couple of days and nights together and we all had a wonderful time. It was exactly what we all needed to begin the healing process.
That fall will forever be etched in my mind. Every time I see these pictures I will remember where I took them and why I was there. And on this particular day it was absolutely beautiful and “CRISP”!
