What is it about the Coast of Maine!

I don’t know what it is about the coast of Maine that so attracts me. It is so completely different from Cape Cod. I’m sure everyone is probably saying if you love it so much just move there! I talk about it often enough! The Maine coast that I love is mostly rock and jagged outcroppings. It is moody, desolate, cold and quite often remote. The look is forlorn, unwelcoming and harsh. Yet it just pulls me in and begs me to come back over and over again! There is something about that moodiness and desolation that I find so appealing. I love the thought of being miles from my nearest neighbor, locked in my house on the coldest of blustery days wrapped in a blanket with a roaring fire looking out at the ocean. Nothing could be better in my mind! Although I love the company of my closest friends and family I equally love my time to myself, undisturbed and lulling away the hours! Fortunately for me my husband is of the very same nature! When we escape to Maine this is exactly what I get. And I love every single second of the peace and quiet!

“One does not need buildings, money, power, or status to practice the Art of Peace.
Heaven is right where you are standing, and that is the place to train.”
