OUR WORD VIEW – Word of the Week = INDEPENDENCE
SUNDAY POSTING ~ A COLLABORATIVE BLOG BETWEEN TWO FRIENDS (ME AND MY FRIEND BARB) WHO’S PATHS WERE SEPARATED FOR 20+ YEARS AND HAVE FOUND ONE ANOTHER ONCE AGAIN ONLINE. BOTH SHARE A LOVE OF THE OCEAN, NATURE, FAMILY, PETS AND OF COURSE PHOTOGRAPHY! A FONDNESS FOR INSPIRATIONAL SAYINGS HAS SPARKED THIS PROJECT. EACH SUNDAY WE WILL POST THE “WORD OF THE WEEK” AND OUR INDIVIDUAL INTERPRETATION OF THE WORD VIA TWO SEPARATE PHOTOS ON OUR BLOG “OUR WORD VIEW”!
7/8/12 Word of the Week = INDEPENDENCE
I’m sure you look at this photo and wonder what it possibly has to do with “Independence”? This past 4th of July my hubby, my brother, my sister-in-law and myself went into Boston for the day. That evening we ended up over on the Charles River by the “Hatch Shell” where we waited for the “Boston Pops” led by Keith Lockhart perform. The Boston Pops perform each 4th of July by putting on a concert right before an incredible fire works display over the Charles River. Thousands upon thousands of people flock to the shores of the Charles River to listen to the Pops. This is a seen of the throngs of people hanging around the docks of the Charles River listening to the Pops as they play their concert. Not only is it a reminder of this past 4th of July for me but when I look at this scene I am amazed at what “Independence” we Americans really do have and quite often take for granted. The ability of Americans to sit around on a warm summer night listening to concert music really is freedom!
