Tantalizing Tuesday – Magic Cookie Bars – 6/12/12

Magic Cookie Bars

There is nothing easier to make but yummier to eat than “Magic Cookie Bars”. I’m sure most of you have this recipe or it’s somewhere within your family tree. I make these for my parties as I can whip up two pans in the blink of an eye. Freeze them for several days and there just as good once they’re thawed out!

*In these pictures I have doubled the recipe so you will see two of everything!

Ingredients: (one 9×13 pan)


– 1/2 C butter (one stick)
– walnuts chopped
– small bag milk chocolate chips (dark chocolate chips, butterscotch, white and/or a mixture can be used)
– small bag flaked coconut
– 1 1/2 C Graham Cracker Crumbs
– 1 can sweet condensed milk

 If walnuts are not already chopped, chop them into smaller bite site pieces.
 Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place 1/2 C butter in pan and place in oven to melt.
 Measure out 1 1/2C Graham Cracker crumbs.
 Graham crackers measured out.
 Butter melted.
 Pour graham cracker crumbs into pan with melted butter and flatten out to make bottom crust.
 Pour one can (per pan) of sweetened condensed milk over graham cracker crumbs.
 Sprinkle with chocolate chips (one small bag per pan).
 Sprinkle with walnuts (to taste/liking).
 Sprinkle with coconut to taste/liking.
 Pat down to compact loose bits.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes until golden.
