OUR WORD VIEW – Word of the Week = SHADOW

A collaborative BLOG between two friends (me and my friend Barbara Pagnotti) who’s paths were separated for 20 years and have found one another once again online. Both share a love of the ocean, nature and of course photography! A fondness for inspirational sayings has sparked this project. Each Sunday we will post the “WORD OF THE WEEK” and our individual interpretation of the word via two separate photos on our blog “OUR WORD VIEW”! Join our FLICKR group and add your photo interpretation of the word and join in the discussion! Our Word View – FLICKR Group
4/1/12 Word of the Week = SHADOW
Sandy Neck Beach, Barnstable, Massachusetts, Cape Cod
There was always something about this photo that just spoke to me. I don’t know what it was as the photo in itself was nothing special. I just always loved the contrast between the dunes and the shadows they cast! To me it just showed how barren and wind swept the area is. Mind you had I taken this same shot in the summer every square inch of this beach would be covered by four wheel drive vehicles, campers and people! I guess that’s another thing I love about it, the contrast between a summer and winter beach, that few people appreciate the beauty of a winter beach as evidenced by the lack of people on it!

Please check out our blog Our Word View for Barbara’s interpretation of the word.
