Not Your Common Flower!

Certainly not the traditional garden flowers these three different plants although not always found are in their own right beautiful. The above is a ground cover that in late spring gets covered with these tiny small blueish purple flowers. It makes a complete carpet of one whole end of one of my flower beds.

This Lady’s Mantle although it doesn’t have traditional flowers when in bloom does look beautiful the way the water droplets pool on the leaves.

These blooms are on a hybrid Wigelia growing beside my house. It actually grows wild. Two different Wigelia plants cross pollinated. A white/light pink Wigelia beside my house crossed  with a purple Wigelia I planted in the front of my house and voila… I have woods full of this new Pink Wigelia growing everywhere. How lucky is that? When it is in bloom the woods are painted in flaming pink! It is gorgeous!
